You didn't say what transmission you plan to use behind this engine. A pre-62 trans. bellhousing (manual or automatic) will require you to use the pre-62 8-bolt crankshaft. Since the crank is out of the engine, if you wanted to use a 62-up transmission behind the engine now is the perfect time to fit a 62-up crank. For forged steel, you can find a '62-69 318 crank or buy a new 318 forged crank from Mopar Performance (part # P5249135). The M.P. catalog has stroker cranks for 318-340 mains as well, and 318-340 cranks with the 426 Hemi style 8-bolt flange (NOT the old pre-62 8 bolt flange!)
