I recently got some advice on bending chrome pot metal script and it worked just fine. Take an old style heavy soldering iron and put it in a vise to act as a secure and hot fulcrum. Place the point to be bent against the hot tip with a slight amount of bending pressure. As the item heats up ( 15 to 30 sec. for a thin piece) you will feel the metal relax and bend without damage to the metal or chrome. Saved me the trouble of finding a replacement.
