correction: I was tired when I wrote the above- actually north is counterclockwise and south clockwise. For you who are curious- I got the info from a very reputable source. not encyclopedia britannica rather a Simpsons episode where bart travels to Australia in order to apologise for insults he has made about the country and its citizens. Bart always has a tough time with apologies.
