Whatever tranny you have, it must be a "park" cable. But if your tranny is a 1960,then it should be for a drum brake on the tranny tailshaft., It was only in 1962 (I believe) that they started to use a sprag. BUT then again, if it's just hanging loose and not hooked up, it's possible someone put a '62-5 tranny in it. Definitive test for whether you have the 1960 cast iron unit (A466) or post 1962 aluminium A727 is to try a magnet on the body. The A466 also has 18 bolt holes in the pan, the A727 has 14.
