Tim...Not surprising that a local shop blew you off. I doubt they even have all the right tools for the old iron monster! Try contacing Gary the Parts Doc in Reno, Nevada. He rebuilt one for me, and was VERY reasonable. If fact, I would state from his pictures and dscription that "re-manufacture" is a better description of what he did. Gary can most likely tell you how much, and either sell you parts or do it himself. Downside is you have to ship it to Nevada, but I think he has exchange units for sale. Contact him at "gary@glnelson.com". There are two other places I have heard of, one in Indiana, and another in Texas, and that is about it unless one of your older local car buffs knows a "local hero".
