Problem solved......it wasn't the choker. The ignition key cylinder wasn't tight in the N.O.S. switch I installed recently. The stalling out with the ignition switch in the "on" position seemed like a cold starting problem, but was really a poor connection. I was flooding the engine by pumping the pedal and then holding the pedal down to clear out the excess fuel. Silly me. :-/
