I was going to swap a lower miles 8-3/4 from a 57 into my 58, buuuuttt,,,, the bolt pattern on the pig is different!!! so one of two things... the six cyl rearend actually is a lighter duty 8-3/4 lookalike, or 57 to 58 is when it all changed, the design of the rerarend that is. now my 58 rearend even has the same u-joint boltup as the 68 driveline I used, so possibly could be even a newer rear, but did not look as if it was ever removed before I got it. so to make along story short, I say no it won't let us know what happens! joe
