Tim...I am in process of doing this with a 1956 DeSoto. Weight estimate is dependent on what is still on/in the body shell when you pull it. My vehicle will be completely gutted (eg: no glass, no seats, no dashboard/instrument cluster, no wiring, no window regulators assys). Also, the doors will be off, and the trunk, bumpers, trim, and the front fenders/hood/valence/radiator horsecollar and all associative pieces such as steering column and Power Brake assembly and heater/vent box mechanism off. The resultant weight calculated by my body shop for this body shell is about 1600-1800 US pounds. Hope this helps.
