The first poly ('61 Fury) engine I had did expire, BUT it had gone 226,000 miles without ever having even the heads off. A poly I removed from a 1960 car had 184,000 miles on it, still with strong compression on all 8 cylinders. Anyone who works on B/RB engines will ESPECIALLY laugh at his comment about Poly head gaskets. Wedges eat head gaskets like crazy, they seem to last 5 times as long on poly engines. 1955-61 Mopars have their weak points, but the poly engines are not one of them. The majority of the 1955-61 Dodges and Plymouths left have poly V8's still running under their hoods.
