I use Castol GTX 20W-50 in my 57 Dodge 325, as I do in all my other Chryslers and it performs quite satisfactorily under all the weather/load conditions I encounter. I don't operate the cars in sub-freezing conditions, so the 20W is good enough for Southern California winters. My 57 325 does not seem to have the valve clatter you mention. My Dodge is equipped with hydraulic lifters which operate at zero lash. If you are getting clatter with hydraulic lifters, something is amiss. Do you have good oil pressure? Good luck, Mopar Randy
