Hey Alex! First off rebuilding that Poly-318 is no-where nearly as hard as you think. The parts are not that scarce either. However, if you go the other route, check down the threads on this page as well as the "Exhaust Pipe" forum here. That subject has been gone over in detail. Things to think about, a whole other trans from 1962-1964 or puttng a floor shifter in for any newer trans from 1965 up, driveshaft, rear end yoke, etc.... Give it a little more thought and listen to other prior experiences and see if it's worth your while?
