I totally agree with you Eddie. If you decide to go ahead and freshen the engine up check the availability of rebuilt engines. Without knowing what you have it's hard to say, but there may not be good rebuilts around at a reasonable price. If you don't feel comfortable doing your own rebuild, most machine shops will also assemble your engine (they charge for it, but they have the tools and do it for a living). Good luck.
