Entire '59 GM line was influenced by forward look. Longer, lower and wider was the deal. GM was'nt aware of the giant revamp going on at Chrysler (thanks to Exner) for the '57 models. It took them to '59 intro to get thier act together. They shelved all the original '59 designs (boxy, high, and chrome laden) to launch the actual '59's that were forward look competition.
