The cylinder heads on the 318 "poly" have polyspherical combustion chambers,and the later 318's have wedge-shaped combustion chambers. The heads are completely different from one another and do not interchange. The engine blocks are different also. The internal rotating assemblies inside of the blocks,however,can interchange most parts (except pistons!)
