My '61 newport had it's Torqueflite rebuilt about 5,000 miles ago. The problem is that it will not kickdown to the appropriate gear. When I take off from a dead stop, it is still in 3rd. When I try to pass on the freeway, it will not go into 2nd. The fluid is perfect, not burnt. I feel it must be in the linkage. Am I on the right track, or is there a "common" problem I may be overlooking. Any hlep would be appreciated. Thank you in advance ! -Dennis
