I don't know about the master cylinder but on my 58 Plymouth I fitted some Lebaron spindles with disc brakes and they work out great. I have the original master cylinder and don't even have a proportioning valve. I also have an article from a magazine of a purple 58 with a hemi and it has disc brakes from an Isuzu. You have options, so don't spend a lot of money for something you don't need.
