Yes,the 1957 dash pushbuttons will shift the 1964 727 transmission (except for 'park'). Adding the 1964 rear axle makes sense for the parking brake setup (with some cable modificiations,the original 1957 under-dash parking brake control can be used to activate the 1964 axle service brakes). An alternative to this would be to find a 1962 B-727 from a Chrysler or Dodge Custom 880. These 1962-only transmissions have a driveshaft parking brake assembly like the 1957-61 Torqueflites. Line locks can also be used,they are available from many RV, towing and high-performance vendors.
