Hey Pony, I believe you are correct. There has to be a difference in gear ratio in the speedometer pinion in the tranny. In my '59 parts book it doesn't mention a different pinion gear for a 150 speedo but, it does mention some sort of adapter with an unknown description. By the way, how much did you pay for it? They usually cost a pretty penny. Did you ever figure out the linkage from the firewall "bell crank" to the rear carb? In any case with your speedo try contacting Tom Mitchell using the L-forwardlook lists address. He has a '58 belv conv Golden Commando with the 150 speedo. Maybe he will know more than I do
