Brian, I have noticed this with my '58 Dodge. I have to be careful when filling it, partly because as you said the unleaded nozzles are smaller diameter, filling up less of the filler tube, and I have also noticed that when the pump clicks off when full, the car is FULL! Don't even think of rounding off to the nearest quarter!
