The 1965 parts book lists the same connecting rods for the poly 318 and the LA 273. If I remember correctly, poly 318 truck cranks were used in 340 engines by the racers because they were harder than the car cranks. The poly 318 and the LA 273, 318 and 340 have the same stroke, cylinder angle (90 degrees) and deck height. Also the "wide block" is a misnomer, the poly and LA engine blocks are the same size. The LA is for "light A" engine, not late A as some say.
