We knew them as sedans and hardtops. Besides the obvious post, a sedan had a full door with metal all the way around the glass. As you noticed, many parts, like the windshield, are not interchangable. The sedans had more head room and were more rigid than the hardtops, but in my opinion they did not have the sleek beauty of the hardtops.
