Your right about the deck heights, but 331-354-392 intakes do interchange. When Chrysler went to the tall deck, they made the heads wider, which allows the manifolds to be swapped between the engine sizes. At one time, WEIAND used to make spacers to allow the use of 331-354 heads on the 392s. 392 heads will not retrofit to the 331-354 however unless your using a two piece log type manifold such as WIEAND used to sell (these were usually for 6 or 8 stromberg type carbs.
