Hello, figure I could help you out with this one. There is a small spring loaded button on the top center (terminal side). Depress this button (with authority) while pulling the knob. After 42+ years it will take some elbow grease but it will come out. After you remove the knob, turn the inner knob counter clockwise, it will then release the switch from the dash and you can remove all of your wires.
