Jake, I'd suggest finding a good quality auto electric shop for this conversion. It will be fairly involved with changing the generator, voltage regulator, starter, etc. but the results will be well worth it in the form of better starting, etc. Of course it would reduce the value of an otherwise perfectly restored car but I assume yours is a driver, in which case it wouldn't really affect resale value, in my opinion.
