The truck I am building needs a 57.5" backing plate to backing plate rear after some much more careful measuring. Now the rear under the wagon is 56.5". I am sure it is not a posi, but what casting number should be on the pinion and where for an 8 3/4 rear. It seems to be the same thing I have in the truck now. If it ain't an 8 3/4, where should I look for a cheap-o 3.7 to 3.8 gear posi unit, like what year car or truck and what model. I'm sure this is yet another Daven quesiton.
