as far as i know, only the trucks have the spring perch on top. all of the passenger car axle housings have them located on the bottom. it's true that the a body rear shares the same dimensions with the 60's and early 70's pickup trucks otherwise save for the bonus of the big bolt pattern and larger brakes.
