I am going to tow with the finished truck, and I would rather cough up money to narrow a 8 3/4 and never have to touch it again than worry when I'm pullin' that boat out with a 8 1/4 that I might need to check the cell phone battery for the tow truck! If the A body rear is the size I need, but the 8 3/4 A body rear is $$$, then I will get the best 8 3/4 with a gear ratio I like already in it, and narrow that one and not worry about retrofitting bigger brakes and getting the axles redrilled for large bolt pattern. Make sense? That said, what is a good 8 3/4 to look for that would have a 3.5 to 3.8 ratio out of the box?
