Brian, You can test the switch pretty easy. Get a multimeter and set it on continuity check. Determin which terminal on the switch is the power input. Determin which terminal is the power out which goes to your dash lights. Place the meter leads on those two terminals and turn on the switch. The meter should read zero. If it does then the switch is ok. If not then the switch is bad. If it tests good then you will need to trace the wire that leads to the dash bulbs to see where the power stops. This test should be done with the switch removed. Also, make sure the switch has a good ground. Hope that helps.
