A 383 is basically the same as the 350 and are plentiful enough to find at a reasonable price.
Not sure I'd want the old pushbutton TorquFlite behind anything more than a mild 383, and your bolt pattern won't match anyway unless you already have a 350. Most late model engines swaps I've seen had a late model trans also.
