by shaving ...i mean smoothing out the firewall..no heater box on outside...no holes that aren't nessessary...basically everhole but brake hole...then figure where heater and air lines are going to run the drill holes...look into a small square plate for lines to go thru...made of aluminum the dress up holes...into one group...can seend pics...you end up with a super clean firewall for minimal work...usually easier to put a piece across the whole thing then cut out new holes...the v/a unit you spoke of fits under dash...i have put in these units in early to mid 30's and later 40 cars...easy to do...let me know if you have any questions...brandon bdi automotive design http://home.fuse.net/bdihotrodsetc/
