On my car there were two types of clips, bolt on and push in. The bolt on clips had speed nuts on the back that I unbolted with a socket wrench. The push in clips are removed by pushing a putty knife or thin screwdriver under the trim and gently prying them off. The clips have a diamond shaped set of springs that slide over each other to release. The bolt on clips are only used where they can be easily reached or else the factory wouldn't have used them. good luck.
