Post the engine ID code from your possible "new" engine. Also if you can find out what it is coming out of, that will also help. The high-deck 383 is an "oddball" engine (like the low-deck '58 350CID). Harder to find parts for, but as I said, it is probably a "torque monster" with that 3.75" stroke.
