Adam, You are very perceptive and tactful. You could've said it sounds like I'm stumbling around like a blind idiot. I'd go to a decent machanic in a heartbeat, but in my experience, it's hard enough to find one who is good at electrical troubleshooting, let alone one who's comfortable with a 6V system.
