The typical Max was a stripper and didn't even look as good as my old '62 Fury, much less the '60 and '61 Furys. From 1966-71 my grandma had a '66 Dodge Charger 426 Hemi (red/blk). Grandma drove reasonably most of the time, but of course my mom,dad and uncle (all in their 20's and not able to afford insurance on a Hemi car themselves) ran it hard whenever they were lucky enough to get their hands on it,and yours truly (in his elementary school phase) was in the car for some of this rowdiness! Every time I drive by a certain parking lot today,I remember Mom doing doughnuts in the Charger there (with me in the car, too!). Her '66 was a wonderful evolution from the Max Wedge in terms of luxury and civility. Still though,I love the Forward Look, that's why I did a 440/4-spd./discs in my car. I wanted musclecar power and Forward Look style!
