Bobby, I know a guy that found a nice, 'sorta low milage (just turned 50K) '49 Chevy with a blowed up Power 'Slide. (first year for Chevy's automatic) The new parts alone, cost under $1,500, and the rest was labor. The retired father (80's ?) of the transmission shop's now owner took about three months to build it. Mitch (the car owner) told me that he was at a couple of big shows, ones where these vendors that advertise in Hemmings all the time, that go to rub shoulders with the rich and famous. They told him that $2K for the first year Power 'Slide was CHEAP! They charged $3K and UP to build one!! That's more than the whole car cost new!
