Solid lifters are time-proven and rock solid. Could you put hydraulic in? Yes, probably lifters for the Chrysler Spitfire would work. Don't forget to put in hardened exhaust valve seats. No seat deterioration. See my prior post on that subject a few threads down. Tappet adjustments, if valve train is new, will last at least a couple of years before new adjustments are to be made. .013intake, .021exhaust
