Hello, Actually the 848 is for '57's and the 854 is for '58's. Although they physically look the same and the circuitry is pretty darn close, they were two different radios. It would not surprise me if an 848 was installed in a '58 as the '57 production cranked out mre than Plymouth could handle. They probably had an abundance of left over radios and installed them to get rid of them. If you have any questions, drop me a line.
