Well Dennis, you are welcome! As far as the newer Torqueflite, it's possible to bolt it up, but you will have to make modifications. Don't forget that in 1962, the crankshaft flange in the back of the engine changed and that is exactly where you're Torque converter/ flywheel are. Also, your Torqueflite has a separate flywheel, not the intergral one with the torque converter on the later units. Are you able to do a stall test on your trans? This will tell you if the converter is junk! Also , do some pressure checks on the ports on the side of the trans body. This will tell you more about what's going on inside and pinpoint an accurate diagnosis.
