Dennis, First off, put in two quarts of Dexron 3. Then fire-up the engine and add three more quarts. Make sure the engine is at normal operating temperature. With your foot on the brake place the engine in DRIVE and Reverse. Put the trans back into neutral, running and check the dipstick. Add one quart at a time, Reverse and Drive, neutral , check fluid level. This is because Servos and valve body etc.. must fill up with fluid. Second, that noise is when? After the engine has been run? During? Cound be coolant circulating through the heater core. After, could be metal expansion, oil draining back in to the crank case. Let me know what's up!
