You see, it goes like this: If you do your dry check, and get a low compression reading, you squirt some oil in that cylinder (like a teaspoon or so), crank a couple of times to spread it around and then do your compression test again. If the reading goes up, you've got bad rings, if the reading doesn't change, then it's bad valves. Recognize, boyz - WORD Brian
