My '61 Newport w/ pushbutton auto is doing something screwy now. Besides not downshifting at a light properly, the trans now engages to DRIVE when you push NEUTRAL button in. When you push REVERSE, it seemingly goes into a semi-neutral gear. It almost seems like the pushbuttons have traded places with their neighbors to the right. R=N, N=D, D=2, 2=1, 1+1.Is this simply a matter of pulling the cable out of the trans and turning the adjustment nut ? If so, which way does it need to be turned ? Please help if you can!!
