Have a book on customizing trucks, and the author used a Monaco sub under a 54 Dodge which has the same frame. He had to make all new frame rails from the cab forward, adn claimed it was easy. I'm still curious about softer springs in the stock setup for ride comfort. I know the stock stuff can take the abuse, but would a set of custom springs make it softer?
