Timmy, go look at the '77, or '78, BACK, Dodge Van master Cly mounting bracket. Those vans have the MC mounted sideways for the short hood clearance. I saw a pick up with a 440 2 4 cross ram, (300 F-G) and had to use TWO of those van offset brackets to get clearance between the left carb/air cleaner and MC. Mounting the MC, pointing towards the hood hinge, might have enough VC to MC clearance for you. My nickle's opnion, you have too much pressure to the front brake sys.
