Well, I can tell you from experience that all of the automatic tranny's I have run across do this--the torque converter does leak down if it sits for very long. It's pretty typical-even newer Mercedes transmissions do it. The fluid level in the pan rises, and it'll leak out anywhere that it can, which is usually anyplace higher than the normal fluid level. No biggie. And rebuilding your tranny won't help it either, except by preventing the fluid from leaking out. If the car sits for long, the leakdown will occur.--Z--
