any 727 should work from 62 to 64 without valve body mod's, 65 car and 65 to 67 truck cable shift trans will also work if you have pushbutton valve body, however, with all of these you will lose your parking brake; if I were to go this route, I would swap in a post 65 8 3/4 rear axle, it does not have keyed axels/rear drums and is set up for a rear parking brake and find a place to mount the lever for the parking sprag. The nice thing about the truck 727 62 to 64 is it's just like the one in your car except it has a alum case and most parts will swap with all other 727's made from 62 to 67.
