i love my (tapered) rear axle too. once you have the hubs off, coat the inside with hi temp grease and don't overtighten the large nut. you will NEVER have trouble to get them off again! i can't believe people are changing the whole axle just to get rid of the tapered shafts! btw with disk brakes/new studs you dont need to remove the hubs anymore except for bearing/differential work.
