there is only one way to look at this---buy or rent a socket to fit your ball joints---even with the correct tool they can be very hard to remove---a cheater bar may also be required(a 3 or 4ft.piece of pipe added to your ratchet)---the first one i ever changed-i used a square jaw monkey wrench from @the 20's---it worked-but it was tough---good thing it was the uppers-lowers are worse---even with the socket-chances are your going to lose some knuckle skin-and i got the scars to prove it---hope i helped---later---chuck lowe
