That's how I do it, hold it up to the front motor mount boss on a big or small Mopar V8 that's outside of a car (later LA 318's and later big blocks will work) and see which one it fits! In fact, since repro '58-59 'can-type' B-engine mounts are not available at present, your best hope is to rework a pair of 318 mounts to fit the big block, unless you can find the B-engine mounts. Maybe Imperial Services will repro these! (I hope!)
