Mikey, I remember seeing 'new' 318's at the dealership,(not entirely sure of the year but '57 sure sticks in my mind) and they were ALL silver like you said, but I defniantly remember seeing a red air cleaner, red hood hinge/latch springs and oil dippy stick.
