Lee...I had my radiator recored with a modern core on my 1956 for a variety of reasons. First, there are few NOS cores around. Second, the old-style core is limited in how much pressure it will hold (I wanted AC, so higher pressure the better). Lastly, I felt that having the original look on my radiator for shows was not as important as flow capacity and pressure capability. So I had a local radiator shop put the largest maodern core (4-layer) into my tanks, and am now ready for hot summers, slow driving, and AC! (It was also cheaper than an NOS core, which they could have special ordered, although this was not in the equation of choice).
